"Art is’ Mimi Yoon

For international artist mimi yoon, there is no concrete definition for art. to her it is simply that “art is.” Her artwork vibrates with tangible and sensual beauty and honesty. it subtly allures then climaxes to demand attention and is immediately unforgettable. Mimi has a bfa in graphic design from California state university long beach, and has founded an art academy for youth and mentored for 10 years before she started to paint her passion. When not painting, mimi can be found curating art shows and contributing to local charities, with the goal of using the arts to bring raw honest humanity into the realm of community.

Wanna see how many there are.

Same here

If by self taught you mean years of doodles, crying over your pathetic art, tearing up thousands of drawings and then finally drawing something you’re proud of… ONLY TO HATE IT 5 DAYS LATER

Then yes. I am self taught.

Rene Magritte, The Lovers, 1928
Magritte’s mother was a suicidal woman, which led her husband, Magritte’s father, to lock her up in her room. One day, she escaped, and was found down a nearby river dead, having drowned herself. According to legend, 13 year old Magritte was there when they retrieved the body from the river. As she was pulled from the water, her dress covered her face. This later became a theme in many of Magritte’s paintings in the 1920’s, portraying people with cloth covering their faces.

"you’ll get ink poisoning"

haha funny thing is, its actually impossible to get ink poisoning this way. the only way to get sick with ink is to eat around 16 pens full of ink to even be slighty harmful
